Formerly, Biblical scholars consider the numbers & history of the Hebrew Kings to be a mass of confused contradictions. Edwin Thiele, in his book, Mysterious Numbers of the Hebrew Kings harmonized all but 3 of the numbers in 1 & 2 Kings. The prestigious Cambridge Ancient History adopted Thiele’s chronology as “the absolute chronology of Palestine” for the Period of the Divided Kingdom.[i]
