Gracious Heavenly Father, we thank you for this work week we are about to complete and pray we have set forth a good Christian example for all who have observed us. I pray we will do better in the weeks to come, and for improvement in our Christian knowledge and walk every day. Please forgive us when we stumble, and help these times of error be times of growth, of knew learning, learning what to avoid in this walk, and to have better control over our behavior. Lord, it still lies heavy on my heart all the false teaching of Your word in many churches, and even in my own congregation, I pray You will lead all of us into a better understanding of Your word. Lord inspire all teachers of Your word to use all the wonderful tools You have given the modern American for perfect understanding of Your word and teach it correctly. Lord help us to not give in to the temptation of “selling” Your great truth, enticing people into worship with big bands, great orchestras and choirs, but let our song worship to you become simple, humbly worshiping and glorifying You, not our selves or professional song leaders. Lord let us use the facilities You have blessed us with for worshiping You in Truth, Spirit, Humbly, and Honorably, not as hang out places tempting the passerby with treats. Lord, let our preachers teach from the scripture Your unerring truth, and not self-help, self-glorifying, messages of wealth and health that seem to be prevalent in today’s church. Lord, we pray the true church will emerge, and lead the way to true worship, true teaching, and true understanding and be an example to the rest of those seeking that truth. Inspire everyone Lord, who has a true heart for You to study Your word for themselves not relying on the words of man, but on the words of Your message. Lord, finally, inspire all of us to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in prayer, learning to ask for things in Your will, and not for worldly wealth as a child might. Teach us Lord to come before Your throne, humbly, begging for mercy, for forgiveness, and being thankful for all the great blessings, and in supplication, merely asking for what is needed to sustain our lives. Lord place vision in us of heaven; give all the desire to be there, with all our loved ones. Help us to be determined to know the way You have set before us, and help us keep our eyes on the glory and grace of the cross. Lord we continue to pray for the prisoners, Please Lord let this be a time of spiritual growth for them, a true correction of their behavior. Lord, we pray that we will be able to care for the poor, and homeless as Your representative on earth. Lord, please be with the suffering, giving the comfort, patience, peace and hope they need and crave. Lord please care for the orphan, and the widow, and for all those who have lost a loved one, giving them love, and companionship. Lord, I ask for a special blessing this morning, that even though I am aging, that You will give me strength to carry on, to continue teaching Your word, to have courage to approach the unapproachable, to allow me the great blessing of taking Your word to others, and blessing me with the truth of Your word. I pray for all older Americans, and older people around the world who have the experience and knowledge of the true condition of the world, that they will have the strength, to step out one more time, to share Your truth, to reach out to those we failed in the past; to reach out to them again with Your words in such a way that You will touch their hearts and give them a passion to know You perfectly, and to follow Your will perfectly. Please Lord, we pray all this in the name of our savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
About me…Jim Carmichael
I am committed to the re-establishment of truth. I am convinced there is only one truth, there can only be one truth, and that is found in scripture.
I believe that no one man has the complete understanding of the absolute total truth of scripture.
I believe that we can have a great command of the truth by studying scripture, and considering each others positions in understanding scripture with an open but firm mind.
I want to share as many articles from various writers as possible, read their articles, and as an old friend used to say, eat the meat, spit out the bones. However, in the process we can come up with the truth of the scriptures. With today's technology, there is no reason we can not come to a common ground of understanding, based on absolute truth of scripture and not based upon opinion.
