Morning Prayer June 11 2014

littlegirl_saying_bedtime_prayerFather we come to You this morning, to start this day with a simple prayer of thanks. We thank You for the blessing of our families, our physical families that we rely on, and whom rely on us.

We thank You for all our brothers and sisters in Christ whom support us spiritually, and help us grow spiritually.

Lord, we thank You for the difficult times that have stretched our faith, causing us to grow in faith, that now we know regardless of whatever happens in a worldly sense, You will be  there with us, suffering with us, protecting us, blessing us, and giving us the peace that only You can.

Lord, we also thank You for the good times, and the wonderful times that gives us a glimpse of heaven, what we have to look forward to. We thank You for those who have gone ahead of us, for the time we had them in our worldly life, knowing we can look forward to the time when we will see them again, and be with them for eternity.

We thank You for all these relationships that teach us the important things in life are not what we own, but who we are, and who we love, and who loves us. We thank You for teaching us that Heaven has much to do with relationship, more than it has to do with location, as we will be the bride of Your son, to live eternally with Him, and with all our loved ones who have chosen to spend eternity with us.

Lord, we thank You for our failures in a worldly sense, those failures that teach us that even in failure we can look to You, and know that You allowed our failures to occur for Your perfection, and our good, and growth.

Lord we pray that You would bless us with the knowledge of Your word, and You will bless us with a heart that only hears the Holy Spirit work in us, teaching us to have a passion to be Your faithful servant through all, forgetting self, self-comfort, self-preservation, self-wealth, but that self only means an extension of You, in order to do Your work, here on earth.

Lord, we pray You reveal Your work for us, and provide us the opportunity to carry out that work, and that we carry out that work in a way pleasing and acceptable to You. Lord we thank You for the daily provisions that You provide, both physically, and spiritually, and we accept this in full faith, and expect it to continue in full faith on a daily basis.

Lord, we pray for the homeless, that You will provide the shelter they need. We pray for the lonely, that You will comfort them, and give them the companionship through Your presence in the Church.

Lord, we pray for the protection and spiritual growth of the prisoners, and that they will learn more of Your perfect law, and for those who teach them  Your undeniable truths, that both the prisoner and the teacher may enjoy an  eternal life sentence in Heaven in Your presence.

Lord we pray for our friend Jim, that You will help him through these difficult days following the loss of his beloved wife Barbara. Bolster him in Your love, and work Him hard Lord in Your fields so that he doesn’t have so much time to grieve for Barbara, and much time to grieve for the lost of the world, helping more find their way each day.

And Lord, finally we thank You for blessing us all with the life of Barbara, for the example she set forth for everyone who knew her.

We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
