May God Bless America
Gracious Heavenly Father we come to You this morning with prayers for our country, for America, that You once again shed Your love, and Your grace upon her. Lord, we pray You will lead us to become the world leader in worshiping You. Lord, we pray for forgiveness for much of the influence we have had on the world, and pray that influence will become a Godly influence.
We pray for forgiveness of our sins, for setting laws that go above Your laws, and for turning our backs on You by taking You out of the education of our young, and allowing the evil influences to have their way in the education of our children. Lord we pray for forgiveness for not keeping an eye on the morals of the leaders we chose for ourselves, leaders who do not lead our country to Your glory, but to their own glory making themselves rich at the cost of the American public, and letting themselves be swayed by certain, evil, self interest groups with loud mouths, and lots of money.
Lord, we pray that the people, will raise up, and demand that this country and her laws be returned to glorifying You, and Your name above all names. Lord, we pray our country will return America to worshiping You as our God, and Your Son as our Savior, not the political process.
Lord, we pray for our military people who serve this country, laying down their lives in order to protect our country. Lord, they once did this to protect our freedom of worship, our way of life, and now it seems they are fighting for the private interests of our politicians. Lord, we pray for their protection from both the foreign enemy who would destroy their bodies, and the domestic enemies who would destroy their souls, by taking away their right to worship You, as they please, when they please, and where they please. Lord, we pray You will protect their minds from the evil, and protect their hearts, that they will continue to love You, and America.
Lord, we pray for our homeless, our sick, the orphan, and widows. WE pray that You will protect them, feed them, teach them of Your undeniable truth, and that You will do that through us, Your representative here on Earth, the church. Lord, we pray that You open the eyes of the church, moving us toward the care of the homeless, and thank You for all the congregations who have begun programs, and ministries to care for them, with food banks, and clothing and furniture ministries. Lord we pray for those caught up in the new American way of drug, and alcohol abuse, that You will lead people away from the abuse of these things, and to worshiping you, and we pray this will also be done by the church, and we thank You for those congregations already involved, and those beginning programs such as celebrate recovery.
Lord, we pray for the education of children, that this most precious chore, and blessing be brought back under the influence and control of the church, and we thank You for all the congregations that have stepped forward and started Christian schools all across America. Lord we pray that each individual Christian will contribute part of the financial blessings their receive from You for this cause. And, Lord we pray that we the Church through Your blessings will find ways to participate physically in that cause, teaching children whenever we can the truth of the scripture.
And, finally Lord we thank You for the presence of the Church in the prisons, with such “inside” programs such as the Genesis program, that are reaching out to these men incarcerated, helping them find truth in Your word, the truth that will change their lives and turn them into God fearing men and women, who will once again become productive citizens of this nation, taking care of their families, and teaching others what You have done for them.
Lord, we ask for forgiveness of our sins, we thank You for all the blessings You have bestowed upon us. We pray Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and we do pray for and receive our daily provisions, our daily needs in full faith, knowing in faith that You are faithful.
And, Lord we pray for protection from the preacher who would try to influence us to not be vocal about these things, to tell us to not stand up for Your name, out loud and in color, but to remain quiet as the evil takes over the world. Lord let us remember the great command to take Your word to the world, teaching them to obey Your word and be baptized. Let us begin this great mission within ourselves, as an example to those we would teach.
We pray all this in the name of the son, our savior the Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen.
