Father, we approach Your throne, humbly as if on our knees, asking for forgiveness of the sins we have committed, both known and unknown. We pray You will help us avoid temptations of all sorts, answering as Christ did in the wilderness, “it is written”.
Lord, help us learn Your word, by giving us an overwhelming passion to know Your word, and to keep Your word. Lord, engrave Your word on our hearts, let us wear those hearts on our sleeves, so that all will know our passion is for You, and for Your word, and let us demonstrate this passion in such a way others will want to share in it.
Lord, we pray You will empower us, give us the courage, and the strength to stand strong for Your word, and to stand strong for those too weak to stand for themselves. Lord, give us strength and opportunity to share Your love, and compassion for the homeless, the helpless, those imprisoned behind concrete walls, and behind walls created by drugs, alcohol, and mental illness. Lord, make us caregivers, and keepers of all orphans, widows, and those who have strayed from the narrow path of righteousness.
Lord, allow us to be the strong shoulder for the grieving, those who are heartbroken from the loss of a loved one, a child, or spouse, or friend, help us to show how they can be seen again, in a better place.
Lord, allow us to be the encouraging friend to those who have lost jobs, and homes, showing them the possessions that are far more valuable than worldly objects.
Lord allow us to once again become the responsible church, taking upon ourselves the caring of the poor, the orphan, the stranger, and the education of children, not leaving these highly important tasks to the responsibility of the faceless state. To strangers of Your word, who only work to help based upon state law, not Your laws.
Lord, I pray that all who read this prayer, who share in this prayer will accept it, embrace it’s truth, it’s message, and share it with others.
Lord, we all pray for a “great awakening” to occur in America, a great awakening to Your word, Your truth, and lead us to become that nation, that is truly “under God”. Allow us to be like the Israelites and see the error of our way, and turn and look upon the cross and live.
Lord, we pray all this in the name of the one who did not fall to the temptations of satan in the wilderness, in the name of the perfect, righteous man, whose work offers all eternal life if we merely accept His teachings, believe, be baptized, and do His commands. In the Name of Jesus Christ we offer up this prayer. Amen.
