Gracious Heavenly Father, we approach Your throne this morning humbly, painfully aware of our shortcomings, and repentant of our sins, Yet we approach You joyfully as we know we have been forgiven our sins, and we are completed by the actions of Your Son on our behalf, on the cross.
Lord, we pray we worship You today in truth and Spirit, and all congregations will, or You show them the truth, and give all of us heart and mind to change when we see we are in error.
Lord, give us a determination to know Your word, to study it, to embrace it, to love it, to live by it, and to share it.
Lord, we pray You will be with us this day, keeping us safe from all evil, injury, and illness. We pray for strength on those days we do have difficulty, finding patience, and hope in Your promises.
Lord, we pray for the prisoners, we pray as they enter a new month in captivity, that they will also find peace, patience, and hope in Your word and promise. We pray that You will place in their hearts the knowledge that You have separated them from family and friends in order for them to have a season in which to find You, learn Your word, and share Your word with others in their same situation.
Lord, we pray for the drug addicts today, that You would release them from their bondage. Lord, we pray for those who sell drugs, that You would change their hearts, leading them to a life that honors You, and Lord, for those who will not change but insist on preying on those who are weak, that You would bind them, prevent them from leading others to a hell without end.
Lord, we also pray for the homeless, the helpless, the orphan and widow, that You would care for them through Your representative on earth, the church.
Lord, we pray for our daily bread, and receive it in full faith of Your providence. Lord, we pray all this in the name of the one who provides us with eternal life by His action on the cross, His personal sacrifice for the world, Jesus Christ. Amen.
