Gracious Heavenly Father, we come to You on this Saturday morning feeling all the blessing, and feeling so thankful for those blessings. You have brought us so far in understanding Your truth. We have been so blessed with all the technology available now that we can study the scripture, and all the great writings, and commentaries of all the great Christians of the past, like no other time before.
Lord, on this day that would have been my sister’s 68th birthday I am filled with wonderful memories, and some not so wonderful memories of the life we spent together. I thank You lord for this older sister who always looked out for her brother. She was such a blessing to me, with her I always knew I had a place to go.
So Lord, today I ask a special blessing for all the sisters of the world, the physical sisters, and the spiritual sisters whom we will spend eternity with.
Lord, we also lift up to You this morning a special prayer for all women. We pray they find their way back to their natural position in life, on a pedestal, above the nonsense of men, who start wars, and live rough and difficult lives. Lord, help women to realize when they became equal to us men, that it was a step down not a step up. Lord, we pray women would once again become that mysterious, beautiful creature than men wrote beautiful poetry about, and reject the equal barroom mentality and behavior that became the rage of the 20th century.
Lord, as our custom, as it is in our hearts and minds, we raise up to You the homeless, the helpless, the hopeless, and the prisoners of the world, showering them with Your love, protection, and promise.
In Jesus Name. Amen.
