While the problem of pain is a serious stumbling block for many people, most of the time I get this question, it’s from sceptics who reject what they don’t like because they believe the world of their own imagination is better than the reality of the world we live in.
The problems with this question are that it is based on a subjective sense of what is fair and/or moral, and it assumes too much that isn’t true.
1. It assumes God can’t stop suffering so He is not all powerful
2. It assumes that He could end pain and suffering but won’t because He is evil
3. It assumes sinful humans have the capacity to be more just and moral than a perfect and infallible God
