An important message for active evangelists, and those thinking of hitting the streets with God’s word. Do not be discouraged, just keep moving forward
A reader posted a great comment on this blog some time ago that deserves repeating.
When Jesus commissioned the Twelve (Matthew 10), part of what he told them was (vs 14): ?? whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.? The verse underscores two points.
1. Some people won?t receive you nor attend your words.
2. It is appropriate to acknowledge this rejection of Truth by shaking off the dust of your feet. Once the message of Christ is presented, if unbelievers reject that message, the results are in God?s hands.
Christians who witness to the lost, especially those who witness to militant atheists, need to accept the fact that they will often be hated for it.
