I have written on here before that I believe a good way to reach people who would otherwise not visit a Christian blog is to not write about religion all the time.
In that spirit…
“A common misconception is that women’s boxing is a relatively new sport.
While it is true that the sport has taken a long time to develop, women’s boxing – in a professional sense – first appeared in England as early as the 1720s in the form of prize fighting i.e. bare-knuckle boxing.
Boxers engaging in this sort of fight – often called ‘fisticuffs’ – do not wear boxing gloves or any other form of padding.
Prize fighting was based on ancient combat sports and led the way for what we recognise today as professional boxing.”
