Morning prayer for November 25 2014

Celtic CrossLord, we come to You this morning in prayer for the people of Missouri, and of other places who suffer at the hands of violence from rioters unhappy with our leaders decision not to prosecute the young officer in the death of a young black man.

Lord, help all our citizens remember that true change in society came from resistance in a peaceful non-violent means, and let them think upon the man who became one of our great leaders, the Rev Dr. Martin Luther King, who denounced violence, and praised peaceful resistance, and prayed for all the little children black and white to live in peace. Lord, let those little children who are now the adults reflect back on the teaching of Your word reflected in the life of this man Martin King, and how his way changed our country in a very positive, good way.

Help all of us remember that it is this life that is revered in our history, in whom we honor as our greatest American, and that all those involved in inciting the riots of the sixties have dropped from memory.

Lord, we pray all the little children can live in peace, harmony, and equality, and let them all be guided by Your word, Your love, and Your will.

Lord, we pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
